I am a contemporary fine artist whose ongoing series, Echoes of Olja, is a visual autobiography inspired by my journey as a Russian adoptee. Through surreal landscapes and repetitive symbols and motifs, I explore identity, memory, culture, and the lifelong journey for belonging. Each painting is a new chapter - researching, exploring, reflecting, and creating. As an Art Educator, I bring these same values into my classroom, encouraging students to use art as a tool for self expression, discovery, and growth. I believe creativity has the power to help us better understand ourselves, connect with others, and find confidence and beauty in our own unique stories.
